Thursday, March 26th, Pitt vs Xavier Sweet Sixteen Basketball Game Watch
7:27pm, Miller Ale House, 2861 N. Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33306 The Pittsburgh Men's Basketball team have advanced to an East Regional semifinal game on March 26 in Boston against fourth-seeded Xavier, which defeated No. 12 Wisconsin 60-49 in Boise, Idaho. This marks the fifth time in the past eight years that the Panthers have advanced to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament. Members and friends of the South Florida Pitt Club will be watching the game at Miller's Ale House in Fort Lauderdale, located at 2861 N Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33306, (954) 565-5747. We welcome you to come down to help cheer the Panthers on to another big win. The game starts at 7:27pm, so plan on joining us.

Sunday, April 5th: Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Florida Panthers, Bank Atlantic Arena, Sunrise, FL, cocktails/appetizers at 3:30pm, puck drops at 5:00 pm.
Join the South Florida Pitt Club for Univeristy of Pittsburgh Alumni night at Bank Atlantic Arena to take in Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins as they battle the Florida Panthers! We will also meet prior to the game for cocktails and appetizers at 3:30pm at Bahama Breeze, Sunrise/Sawgrass Mills, 2750 Sawgrass Mills Circle, Sunrise, FL 33323, Phone: (954) 845-9311. Saturday, April 25th, 5th Annual SFPC Wine Tasting Event
4:00pm, Hibberd House, 1671 SW 27th Terrace, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33312: Please mark your calenders and plan to join the members and guests of the South Florida Pitt Club for our annual wine tasting event to be held April 25th, 2009 at 4:00pm. Suggested donation is $25.00 and proceeds will support the SFPC Scholarship Fund. A rafflle will also be held in support of the scholarship fund. The event will be held at the home of South Florida Pitt Club President Pete Hibberd at 1671 SW 27th Terrace, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312. The SFPC Scholarship Fund is our way of helping South Florida students with the ever-increasing costs of attending college. The scholarship was set up in 1997, and is awarded to one deserving student every year. The South Florida Pitt Club currently offers a scholarship of $1,500 for the winning student’s freshman year, which is matched by the University of Pittsburgh for the student’s remaining years as long as a 3.0 grade point average is maintained. We look forward to seeing everyone at this year's wine tasting event and raising as much money for the scholarship as we possibly can.
