band4me: Custom Arrangements

Disclaimer: Some of the musical excerpts displayed are arrangements in which the copyright permissions granted by the original owner have expired. The purpose for displaying these arrangements is to provide potential customers with a sample of my work. Future sales of copyrighted arrangements are contingent upon securing permission to arrange from the owner (in the event the music to be arranged is not public domain). Music from the motion picture The Mummy composed by Jerry Goldsmith. Five descriptive movements: 1) Curse of the Pharaoh, 2) The Warrior King, 3) The Royal Wedding, 4) The Hand of Treachery and 5) Eternal Rest. Last performed in 2001 by Killian HS. Wind parts only. Medium Difficult. Approximately 9 minutes. Status: permission to arrange granted in 2001, renewal needed for resale.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice by French composer Paul Dukas. One movement with few breaks staying true to the original work. Tuba solo in the beginning, short alto sax solo at the end. Last performed in 2000 by Killian HS. Wind and pit percussion parts only. Advanced. Approximately 7 minutes in length. Status: public domain, currently available for resale.

Council Oak: an homage to the Seminole Indian Tribe based on the original band work by composer David Gillingham. Four movements. Flute solo in the very beginning, trumpet solo in movement I. Battery can be added or performed "as is" with pitted percussion. Last performed in 2002 by Killian HS. Wind and pit percussion parts only. Medium Advanced. Approximately 9 minutes in length. Status: currently unavailable for resale, must secure rights from composer.

George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue is a timeless classic. Four movements with the opening clarinet solo, a solo for flute or alto saxophone, trumpet solo and mallet percussion feature. Can be performed with added battery percussion or "as is" with pitted percussion. Last performed in 2003 by Killian HS. Wind and pit percussion parts only. Medium Advanced. Approximately 9 minutes in length. Status: currently unavailable for resale, must secure rights from Alfred Publishing, Co.

Sensemaya by Silvestre Revueltas makes for an intriguing opener. It is scored in a marchable 7/8 with solos for horn and trumpet. Much of the polyrhythm found in the original work have been simplified to fit in a more managable duple meter. Last performed in 1999 by Killian HS for their Journey into the Jungle show. Wind and pit percussion in score only. Medium Advanced. Approximately 3 minutes in length. Status: currently unavailable for resale, must secure rights from G. Schirmer, Inc.

Esprit de Corps by Robert Jager is an intense opener. It is based on motifs found in the Marine's Hymn, thus can make an excellent opener for a patriotic show. Last performed in 2003 by Hialeah HS. Wind and pit percussion parts only. Medium Advanced. Approximately 3 minutes in length. Status: currently unavailable for resale, must secure rights from Alfred Publishing, Co.

Do Nothing 'Til You Hear From Me is a great Duke Ellington jazz standard. This arrangement is written for a jazz combo: 1 as, 1 ts, 1 bs, 1 tpt, 1 tb, guitar, piano, bass, and drums. The trombone solo could easily be substituted for guitar or piano. Great for a spring concert or combo evaluation.

Be My Guest is an up-tempo swing chart arranged for big-band. The tune first appeared as a combo chart on Quincy Jones' album Go West. There is a saxophone soli (with trade-offs) over the changes of the head. There is also a 4 bar drum solo and an optional solo for guitar over the shout chorus.

Add an additional $100 per chart for more difficult works, or where no score or lead sheet is available (i.e. for music that must be transcribed from a recording).
